Simple Advice Ltd (FSP number FSP1005098 ) Trading as Simple Advice holds a Class 1 full license issued by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) to provide financial advice.

Nature and scope of the financial advice given
Simple Advice provides advice to our clients about their mortgages, life insurance, health insurance, managed funds and KiwiSaver. Our financial advisers provide financial advice in relation to these financial advice products. We only provide financial advice about products from certain providers:

Simple Advice Limited works exclusively with Milford to provide a generalised advice service for KiwiSaver products. This involves discussing what level of financial risk you are comfortable with and recommending a fund type that best matches your attitude toward risk and the length of time until you plan on accessing your funds (from conservative through to aggressive).

Our Advisory Scope

Our financial advice covers your existing term life, trauma, income protection, and health insurance policies. However, we do not advise on whole life or endowment products. For guidance on these specific policies, we recommend consulting a dedicated specialist.

Fees, expenses and other amounts payable for our financial advice

Insurance Fees
Simple Advice may charge a fee if a client cancels their policy within the first 24 months. Simple Advice reserve the right to charge a professional fee of $250 per hour (plus GST) based on time spent on the application. This is capped at a maximum of 7 hours.
Mortgage Fees
Simple Advice may charge a fee if a client settles or refinances their home loan within the first 27 months. Simple Advice reserves the right to charge a professional fee of $250 per hour (plus GST) based on time spent on the application. This is capped at a maximum of 7 hours.
Whether a fee will be charged and the manner in which it will be charged will be advised when the advice is provided to the client. This fee will be payable by the client by the 20th of the month after the policy or Mortgage is cancelled.
KiwiSaver Fees
Simple Advice Limited charges an upfront establishment fee of $150 and will receive an annual commission of between 0% and 0.50% of funds under management. I will confirm how much Simple Advice Limited will receive when I provide my recommendation.
Fire & General Insurance
We may receive a portion of the commission from our Fire and General insurance provider listed above. This percentage is usually between 10% - 25% of the commission received.
Conflicts of interest and incentives
Simple Advice and our Financial Advisers receive commissions from the providers on whose products we give financial advice (Insurers, Lenders, Investment Fund and KiwiSaver providers). If you decide to take out Insurance, a Mortgage, an Investment Fund or KiwiSaver, the provider will pay a commission to Simple Advice and to your financial adviser. The amount of commission is based on the amount of the premium, lending, investment or the KiwiSaver balance.
From time to time, product providers may also reward us for the overall business we provide to them. They may give us tickets to sporting events, hampers, or other incentives.
To ensure that our Financial Advisers prioritise our client’s interests above our own, we follow an advice process that ensures our recommendations are made on the basis of each client’s goals and circumstances. All our financial advisers undergo annual training about how to manage conflicts of interest. We maintain registers of conflicts of interests, and the gifts and incentives we receive. Simple Advice monitors these registers, and provides additional training where necessary. Simple Advice performs an annual review of our compliance program.

When we receive a complaint, we will consider it following our internal complaints process:

We will consider your complaint and let you know how we intend to resolve it. We may need to contact you to get further information about your complaint.

We aim to resolve complaints within 10 working days of receiving them. If we can't, we will contact you within that time to let you know we need more time to consider your complaint, and will aim to provide you with a realistic timeframe.

If we can’t resolve your complaint, or you aren’t satisfied with the way we propose to do so, you can contact our external dispute resolutions scheme (Financial Dispute Resolution Service)
The Financial Dispute Resolution Service provides a free, independent dispute resolution service that may help investigate or resolve your complaint, if we haven’t been able to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction.

Our duties
Simple Advice, and anyone who gives financial advice on our behalf, have duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 relating to the way that we give advice.
